It is true that each one of us has never looked the Hindi film industry for the films that truly reveal authenticity. But is the sole reason why all of us love to indulge in exaggerated dramatics, songs and dance numbers that arty flicks bring with them. Have you ever watched Bollywood art movies? The world of art has mostly been removed from the conventional approach followed in Indian cinema. We are here to prove this wrong. Here is a list of five Bollywood art movies in which art goes middle-of-the-road and is as Bollywood as it can be!

In spite of his thoughts being rich, profound and beautiful, he finds it difficult to express it to everyone around him. This film discovers the growth of Ishaan and his artistic talent under the tutoring of his art teacher, Ram Shankar Nikumbh.

The whirling pied on Ishaan’s canvas reflecting his view of himself sitting alone by a river and gazing the fish is particularly heart-wrenching.
