“Art therapy… when the words are not enough!”
Whether it is your job or you just love to draw and paint in your leisure time, I strongly believe that art therapy and creativity make a difference in our lives. Art therapy helps one to identify their inner selves and expands their notion towards life.
Nowadays it is one of the great challenges that we have become heartless when it comes to the problems of others. Even if we look at the global issues, for instance, climate changes, we don’t even try to do our bit. We have forgotten that ‘WE’ are a part of this global community. It has been seen that when a person is given access to data, he/she sometimes feel disconnected and this is where art and creativity make a change.
Art therapy explores and scrutinizes feelings and emotions through the innovative process of creating art.
It has been proved that art therapy helps in improving people’s mental, emotional and physical well-being. It is not mandatory to be an artist for this kind of therapy, you just need to be confident enough. You can draw, paint, sing, make sculptures and the list is never-ending.
Art therapy and creativity won’t tell you what you need to do, yet if you engage yourself in a good artwork; it will surely change your inner self.
If you see psychologically, the experience is always pleasing to the eyes and soul, when it is more aesthetical. It isn’t a black and white world anymore and it would have been boring if there were just plain things and no decoration. Aesthetics do matter and make our lives much better. Let’s understand this as an example. Imagine yourselves going to a café which is dirty and unhygienic, your appetite will be ruined there and then. Instead, if you will go to a café which is colorful, pretty, and clean and tidy, you will become happy and spend a nice time over there. These little things matter the most and that is how art and creativity makes a difference.
When we talk about the makers, that is, those who create art have a whole lot of fulfillment while creating it. It is a proven fact that art is good for one’s soul and health. Those who enjoy other people’s artwork, they know there is another level of contentment in it. Most of the world’s discoveries have come from creativity, experimentation, and accidents. It is only with the creativeness and inquisitiveness, that we can make a change in this world. It is essentially important as reading and writing and should be instilled in us since childhood.
We must be taught to follow our ingenious nature, experiment, fail, and then try again. One should always be curious and ready to go out and explore the world. This is how you will be able to create wonderful things, see the opportunity and make a change in this world for good.
If we start making a list, we can come up with several topics, undoubtedly. You just need a little push and motivation to create new things. Last but not the least, if you are an artist or if you love art, you definitely know that art makes a positive difference.
Remember always that you can make the world a better place by starting with yourself. Make it better for ‘YOU‘.
